This app is intended to be used by the general public of India between the age groups of 18 years to 100 years, who are not availing any tuberculosis treatment.
In order to get the inference from the app about the likelihood of pulmonary tuberculosis, a compatible smartphone with a working internal microphone is required. The audio (cough and background sounds) need to be recorded in well ventilated, noise free environment preferably at home.
(a) When you register on the App, the following information is collected from you and stored securely on a cloud operated and managed by Wadhwani AI – (i) full name; (ii) date of birth; and (iii) gender. In order to receive the inference/result of your or other individual’s likelihood of pulmonary tuberculosis as per the current AI model used in the App, the relevant vital statistics, symptomatic data, cough (audio) and background (audio) data is requested. This information will be stored on the cloud and a unique digital id (UUID) will be assigned to your information. The UUID will thereafter be used to identify you in all subsequent App related transactions and will be associated with any data or information uploaded from the App to the cloud. At registration, your location details are also captured and uploaded to the cloud.
(b) Each time you complete a self-assessment test, the App will collect your result and location data along with the data you shared. This is securely stored on your device and will be uploaded to the cloud with your consent.
(c) The App shall facilitate the verification of the user’s identity through mobile number based OTP verification.
(d) The App shall facilitate the storage of and the medical diagnostic tests done by/ for the individual. The following information is collected:
(a) All personal information collected from you under Clause 1 (a) at the time of registration will be retained for as long as your account remains in existence and if any medical or administrative interventions have been commenced under Clause 2, subject to Clause 3 (b) below, for such period thereafter as is required for such interventions to be completed.
(b) All personal information collected under Clauses 1 (a), 1 (b),and 1 (c) will be retained on the mobile device for an indefinite period from the date of collection after which, if it has not already been uploaded to the cloud, will be purged from the App. All information collected under Clauses 1 (b), 1 (c), 1 (d) and 1 (e) and uploaded to the cloud will, to the extent that such information relates to people who have not tested positive for tuberculosis, will be purged from the cloud after an indefinite period after being uploaded. All information collected under Clauses 1 (b), 1 (c), 1 (d) and 1 (e) of persons who have tested positive for tuberculosis will be purged from the cloud after an indefinite period such persons have been declared cured of tuberculosis.
(c) Nothing set out herein shall apply to the anonymised, aggregated datasets generated by the personal data of registered users of the App or any reports, heat maps or other visualisation created using such datasets. Nothing set out herein shall apply to medical reports, diagnoses or other medical information generated by medical professionals in the course of treatment.
(a) As a registered user, you have the right to access your profile at any time to add, request to remove or request to modify any registration information that you have supplied from all the platforms where the data is residing.
(b) You cannot manage the communications that you receive from us or how you receive them. If you no longer wish to use the App you are free to delete the App. Please note that deleting the app will delete all the information collected and stored on your phone but will not delete any information stored on the cloud. If you wish to delete the registration information referred to in Clause 1 (a) and stored on the backend clouds, you may email to email@example.com with the relevant information. Once you confirm that you want to cancel registration, all the information you had provided to us under Clause 1 (a) will be deleted after acknowledgement of the request in 30 days.
The App is equipped with standard security features to protect the confidentiality and security of your information. Data is encrypted in transit as well as at rest. Personal information provided at the time of registration is encrypted before being uploaded to the cloud where it is stored in a secure encrypted cloud. Personal information that is stored in the Apps of other registered users that you come in contact with is securely encrypted and are incapable of being accessed by such users. The Personal Data shall be collected, stored and disposed in accordance with the international Standard IS/ISO/IEC 27001.
The Personal Data shall be disposed once the purpose is achieved in the manner as is legally permissible.
The Policy shall apply to all Wadhwani AI employees, contractors, vendors, business partners, interns, associates who may receive personal information, have access to Personal Data collected or processed by Wadhwani AI.
The Policy shall be strictly adhered to by all the third parties who have access to or who have received any Personal Data and are expected to read, understand and abide by the Policy.
The protection of your privacy throughout the course of processing Personal Data as well as the security of all business data are important concerns to us.
We may, from time to time, update this Policy to keep abreast with new technologies, regulatory requirements, new practices among other reasons in accordance with the Applicable Law. We shall ensure that the updated/ revised Policy is displayed on the App with the revision date. Any changes to this Policy will become effective upon posting of the revised Policy on this page. Your continued use of the App following such revision constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy in effect.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
An ML Engineer at Wadhwani AI will be responsible for building robust machine learning solutions to problems of societal importance; usually under the guidance of senior ML scientists, and in collaboration with dedicated software engineers. To our partners, a Wadhwani AI solution is generally a decision making tool that requires some piece of data to engage. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the information provided using that piece of data is sound. This not only requires robust learned models, but pipelines over which those models can be built, tweaked, tested, and monitored. The following subsections provide details from the perspective of solution design:
Early stage of proof of concept (PoC)
This is early to mid-stage of AI product development
Responsibilities during production deployment
We realize this list is broad and extensive. While the ideal candidate has some exposure to each of these topics, we also envision great candidates being experts at some subset. If either of those cases happens to be you, please apply.
Master’s degree or above in a STEM field. Several years of experience getting their hands dirty applying their craft.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an ML Scientist at Wadhwani AI, you will be responsible for building robust machine learning solutions to problems of societal importance, usually under the guidance of senior ML scientists. You will participate in translating a problem in the social sector to a well-defined AI problem, in the development and execution of algorithms and solutions to the problem, in the successful and scaled deployment of the AI solution, and in defining appropriate metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the deployed solution.
In order to apply machine learning for social good, you will need to understand user challenges and their context, curate and transform data, train and validate models, run simulations, and broadly derive insights from data. In doing so, you will work in cross-functional teams spanning ML modeling, engineering, product, and domain experts. You will also interface with social sector organizations as appropriate.
Associate ML scientists will have a strong academic background in a quantitative field (see below) at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level, with project experience in applied machine learning. They will possess demonstrable skills in coding, data mining and analysis, and building and implementing ML or statistical models. Where needed, they will have to learn and adapt to the requirements imposed by real-life, scaled deployments.
Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a willingness to adapt to the challenges of doing applied work for social good.
