Frontline health workers—including Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs)—play a critical role in India’s public health system, connecting communities with essential health services and translating national health priorities such as the National Health Policy (NHP) 2017 into household- and community-level outcomes.
Their role requires them to provide information, counsel families, facilitate access to health services, and support basic care at the community level. This requires access to trusted, government-approved guidance at short notice, so they can respond accurately to health-related questions and support informed decisions in the field.
